I am a passionate and experienced French and Spanish educator with over 35 years of experience teaching and supporting students across primary and secondary levels.
I take pride in helping learners gain confidence in speaking, reading, and writing in another language, and many of my students have gone on to achieve excellent results in their GCSE examinations. My approach is adaptable and student-centered — I tailor my lessons to each learner’s needs, ensuring that every child feels supported and motivated to reach their full potential.

I had the pleasure of taking beginner French classes with Yvette Rodney for a little over a year via Zoom. I initially found out about Yvette’s classes through a friend. After mentioning that I was interested in learning French, my friend recommended a group chat dedicated to language learning. Once I inquired about the available French classes with the group chat’s moderator, I decided to join Yvette’s course. Although I’m based in California and Yvette is in England, her professionalism and enthusiasm made our virtual lessons feel personal and engaging. Yvette was always punctual and reliable, keeping us informed of any schedule changes and maintaining great communication throughout the course. Yvette is my French teacher. She is a very patient teacher and does all she can to help you with any difficulties you have and deals promptly with any questions you ask.
I have been learning Spanish with Yvette for a couple of years now. She has a very professional approach. This is because she is punctual and *enthusiastic* patiently guiding myself and fellow students through challenges such as pronunciation and grammar even when we haven't managed to keep up with the targets. When you have completed one of the tasks set out Yvette will bring it up at a week or two later allowing us time to become more acquainted with aspects of the language. In this way it allows us time to reflect on the material in stages. While she may introduce a new topics. The lessons are enjoyable animated and interesting while also informative. I have every confidence in Yvettes teaching skills and would recommend her tto others. However at times the lesson seems to end too quickly.
